Lee Burke, CRM, CIC
President and Founder

Lee Burke founded Burke Bogart & Brownell, Inc., in 1973 after graduating from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He is licensed in Property & Casualty and Life and Health Insurance. He received the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1978, and obtained his designation as a Certified Risk Manager in October 2010.

Burke, Bogart and Brownell, Inc., has grown to be one of South Florida s most respected Insurance and Risk Management firms. Lee has served on numerous Insurance, Business and Non-Profit Advisory Councils. He is active full time in the areas of Insurance and Risk Management including frequent educational and/or public service presentations on Risk Management topics.

Teresa Schmon
Operations Manager/ HR
Teresa Schmon joined Burke Bogart & Brownell in 2007 as Executive Assistant and manager of Human Resources. Teresa came to the agency with no insurance background but brought with her a very valuable quality; the desire to make a difference.In 2013 Teresa was promoted to the position of Operations Manager. In this role she oversees agency operations, ensuring all facets of the business are running as efficiently and effectively as possible. Teresa’s focus and drive helps our team to be able to consistently provide clients with the best service.

Lorraine Carrie, CISR
Bookkeeper / Personal Lines Manager

Lorraine Carrie joined Burke Bogart & Brownell in 2003, bringing with her significant underwriting experience from several insurance companies.  Lorraine is an important member of the agency management team who recently has taken on the role of Controller.

She will remain in the role of Personal Lines Manager and oversee the team on coverage and Risk Management matters.

Lorraine is a licensed 2-20 Insurance Agent in addition to being a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR).

Lorraine’s passion is sharing and spending quality time with her family, enjoying various outdoor activities. She is an avid reader who also enjoys writing.

Lupe Paez, AIAM
Personal Lines Account Executive

Lupe Paez joined Burke Bogart & Brownell in 2007 as a Customer Service Representative. She began her insurance career in 1993 working in the Loss Prevention Department of a large insurance company, where she worked assisting Insurance Agents. This insurance company experience brings additional depth to her position as an Account Manager.

Lupe earned her 2-20 Insurance License in 2012 so that she could better assist her clients. She also holds the designation of AIAM (Associate in Insurance Account Management).

Lupe strives to provide her clients with excellent customer service, while providing the most competitive and comprehensive coverage to fit their insurance needs. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Genie Torrellas
Personal Lines Account Manager

Genie Torrellas has been with Burke Bogart & Brownell since 1997. She started her insurance career in 1978 with an Independent Insurance Agency. Her experience includes account and department management in both the Personal and Commercial Lines areas.

Genie is a licensed 2-20 Insurance Agent who enjoys speaking with clients so that she can address their questions and / or concerns regarding their insurance needs. Her experience and contribution to the agency has been an invaluable asset to her fellow co-workers and clients.



 Stacey Stacey Rudewick
Personal Lines Sales Executive/Manager
Stacey joined our team in 2014 as a Sales Executive.  She has made such a wonderful impact that we’ve recently changed her role to include working with our affluent clients.Stacey enjoys networking and meeting new people.  She has a wonderful enthusiasm and sharing her insurance knowledge.

Katie Lyon
Office Assistance

Katie recently moved from North Carolina to South Florida.  She has taken to the insurance industry with enthusiasm and excitement and is working towards obtain a 4-40 insurance license.  We feel very lucky to have her on our team and feel her potential is limitless.


Jason Jones
New Business Administrator

Jason Jones joined Burke Bogart & Brownell in 2013. As our New Business Administrator, Jason is responsible for monitoring the new business process while assisting the Account Managers with underwriting tasks and preparation of proposals for clients.

Although Jason had no insurance background when he started he is fast becoming an invaluable member of our team and earned his 2-20 license in 2016.
